Villa Draw a Blank...
Villa 0 - 0 Arsenal. As the opening fixture in our four season deciderers, the Villa away game didn't disappoint. Well, actually it did, it was rubbish. Rosicky went close, denied by the woodwork, but both teams could have snatched all three points in the encounter...

Wenger accused Villa of being 'long ball merchants' which upset Martin O'Neill, no end. O'Neill hit back, with a quality retort about Ashley Young having Gael Clichy in his pocket all night...

Potential disasterous injuries of the night, were to Eduardo, and more worryingly Vermaelen, who limped gingerly off after a hefty tackle on Emile Heskey. Turns out, as we're so rubbish at updating this site, that he's ok after all, phew. No broken leg as suspected, and there is still even a chance he could make the game against Man United this Sunday...

Jacks Off...
Little Jack Wilshere will find out what its like to play like Aston Villa as his loan deal with Bolton was finalised today. Owen Coyle has long been an admirer of the youngster, and now has him until the end of the season...

Bendtner is 'Short'...
Ten foot six inch striker Nicklas Bendtner is 'short' according to Le Boss ahead of this weekends' make or break crunch match against Man United.

Despite the great Dane returning against Villa in midweek, Sir Wenger said: "Bendtner looks at bit short, but I have not picked the team yet. To start Bendtner is going through my mind, but he has only one training session and 20 minutes of action in three months..."

It's thought Arshavin will play up front, with returnee's Song, Eboue also jockeying for a return to action following their return from the African Cup of Nations...

On the subject of Bendtner, he is not short - of confidence at leastL "We will see how I am during the week and hopefully things will keep progressing so I will be 100% when the weekend comes. If Eduardo is out, am I ready to come in? I wouldn't be here if I was wasn't ready. If I play Sunday, I will be ready as well and Manchester United is the sort of big game you'd love to come back into..."

He added: "Is this a chance to become the number one striker? That is my plan. Is it achievable? Of course. Why am I so confident? It is simple. I am a good player. I've always had that belief. People ask me everytime we speak 'why are you like that?' and that's just the way it is. If I didn't think I could do it, I wouldn't be standing here telling you I could..!"

Go on Super Nick!
