Deal done: Arsenal complete transfer for workaholic attacker

Since the start of the summer transfer window, so many players have been linked with a move to The Emirates, following the early promise shown with the signings of Granit Xhaka from Borussia Monchengladbach and Rob Holding from Bolton Wanderers.

It seems as though, as many players that come in, there’s still plenty leaving The Emirates for pastures new, meaning as things stand, with all of the injuries we have, we are probably quite a few players down on last season – hint hint Mr. Wenger.

So, with Mikel Arteta leaving to coach alongside Pep at Man City, Tomas Rosicky, who has left to continue his bromance with Cesc Fabregas, and Mathieu Flamini who left to basically become Iron Man and save the world, it seems there’s another player jetting out of North London.

The latest player to leave is Costa Rican attacker; Joel Campbell, the latest report from TalkSPORT confirming the he has joined Sporting Lisbon on a season long loan. It's also now been confirmed by the Portuguese club this week, there’s even a picture with him holding a scarf in an empty stadium and everything.

Since Campbell joined Arsenal in 2011 he has had his most successful season, scoring four times in thirty appearances, and it’s thought Arsene Wenger feels first team experience will help him realise his potential and become a world class striker.

In the past, like all Arsenal players (you never hear of other teams having issues strangely) Campbell struggled to get a work permit, and so as a result, he was sent on loan to Olympiacos, Real Betis and Villarreal since he first joined Arsenal from Deportivo Saprissa back in 2011.

He's quoted as saying on the club’s official website:

"I am here to win the league. I want to pay back the confidence people have shown in me. Of course I spoke with Bryan Ruiz, who told me a lot of good things about the club, but it was the support of the president and coach that made me take this decision. I will work as hard as I can and results will speak for themselves. I know what I can do and I hope everything goes well here…"

Arsenal wished Campbell all the best in a statement on their website, while adding that the move was subject to international clearance and formal ratification.
Good luck JC in Portugal!
