Report: PSG 1-1 Arsenal

Well, what started badly, ended very well, and we almost beat PSG on the own patch. Things started ahem... pretty badly, with PSG scoring after just 42 seconds, a cross from the right wing nodded home by Cavani, and we were on the back foot for most of the first half.

Ospina had an inspirational evening and kept us in the game with a string of saves, and as the game went on, Sanchez, who had started up front on his own, moved to the left and things started to happen.

A goalmouth scramble ended in a great save from iWobi's piledriver, but the ball came back out to Alexis who powered home the equaliser.

iWobi had a chance to score again a few minutes later, imagine Thierry Henry against Leeds in the FA Cup, with more bodies about, then imagine iWobi instead of Henry, there's your minds eye version. Only he side footed slightly round the post, chance gone.

PSG had many, many chances to get a second, but a combo of poor finishing and great Ospina'ing saw the game finish level.

A good result for us, marred by the ridiculous 2nd yellow card for Oli G. A human centipede of events, seeing him pushed into Veretti and getting sent off for it, if we appeal, we should get the 2nd yellow overturned surely?

Giroud is pleading his innocence, so lets hope common sense prevails... yeah good one.

Ah well, off to a positive start, Basel at home next in the Champions League and we have a point already - well done boys!
